Today's project was fun!

I bought this large dull gray cement look wall hanging the other day. It had nice lines and the floral design was pretty but it was just so...blah!
I had limited paint to work with today, an old bottle of pink craft paint and a too bright bottle of green. I also had some leftover coffee bean wall paint. A little water, some glaze and some sponge brushes and a rag and I figured it would work.
Of course I hauled everything outside to the picnic table, forgetting we were getting some big wind gusts. So yeah, paper towels, plastic cups, brushes went flying everywhere. And I wouldn't be surprised if some grass clippings, dirt, even a bug were added to the project.
All in all, I think it came out well. It was a fun and quick creative paint project.
Here is BEFORE & AFTER pics.

Oh it just happened to end up on my walll..............

another auction

I went to a box lot auction last night. It was the first time the auctioneer had one of this type & it seemed to work out pretty good. It was quick. Each consigner had a table, so you could bring in one box or 20 boxes.
I doubt any big money was made for the consigners or the auction house but people got rid of small stuff & other people bought that small stuff & now they will to try to get rid of what they just bought....oh I mean they will lovingly price it & gently place it into their shop to sell to a lucky customer who just has to have it!

A huge amount of cherubs flew in for the evening...

Going to an auction like this confirms my belief that there is "only so much stuff to go around" & it just keeps going around & around.

Some treasures...great old child's rocking chair, some tinware, wooden items too.

Anyways, it's all good because it's all recycled, reused & reloved!!!!

That said, I sold 14 box lots & bought 6 others. And so it goes...

PICKIN'

I went pickin' today in a friend's storage trailer. Always good to choose a hot humid day to do this sort of thing. Even better to wear a dress??!!! (and have an aching back)

Anyway, she had a double gateleg dropleaf table that interested me. I have never seen one like this. Very different construction. The top looks really old, it's either scrubbed worn or been stripped a looong time ago. I thought at first the base was newer. But in looking at the unattached top pieces I could see wear, light & dark spots & some red wash on the underside of the tabletop boards which matched up with the base. So maybe they weren't married, maybe they did actually start out life together.
It was too hot to haul it out so I don't have a pic yet. It is a project for sure.
I also got some grungy country items, old galvanized tub, a handled square bucket, a rusty milk box & a big ole water bottle in a wooden crate.
As much as I love Limoge & Bavarian china, lace, cherubs & roses I love vintage farm & garden stuff & barn fresh country furniture!
