Ziggy
It's a hot day! The boys went to the groomer & got nice short haircuts.
Ziggy wanted me to let everyone know how happy & cool he feels now!
(Tzu Tzu is just exhausted so no pic & Zoe doesn't go for her new do til next week)

Looks like I'm going to do a big redo at the Stratham shop tomorrow. (poor hubby)
And because a chair, bureau & a bed sold out of Just The Thing today I guess I'll be in there too adding something.
We were out on the bike & there were yard sales & flea markets everywhere. I didn't stop at even one, there's too much stuff in my garage/basement as it is & I have boxlots that are going to auction on Tuesday.
But I always think there's going to be a treasure just waiting for me at some sale & it is difficult to pass them by.
Do you have a yard sale find that you always remember as the best deal ever?

The Horseless Carriage
Just thought I'd post this pic from several years ago of one of my rooms up at the Horseless Carriage Antique Shop. I sold a lot there, rented a few different rooms. The place was an old tavern, built late 1700s & still retained some of the old architecture & charm.
Unfortunately that has changed in recent years, the place was renovated for offices but none have been rented. It is such a shame the place sits empty.

Cape Neddick Maine
What a perfect weather day...you couldn't ask for better temps, such clear dry air, a lovely breeze. Even on the coast of Maine where it can be cloudy & damp in a NY minute.
I snapped a bunch of pics when we were motorcycling along the coast. This photo isn't terrific quality (chance shot at 40 mph) but I soooo would love to just sit on one of those Adirondack chairs & overlook the ocean, just for an afternoon...with a Margarita...or in the morning with a cup of coffee, or even at night with a blanket!

I got this big gold (too gaudy, too tacky?) mirror at auction tonight. No one else bid on it. I waited all night, it came up at the end.
I could easily see it painted in creamy white & be quite a stunning piece.
Perfect for over a hallway table with lamps on either side or above a mantle flanked with scones.
I'll get it painted within a few days & we'll check out the difference!

shabby chic hutch
This pair of adorable vintage boudoir lamps is only $39! Yep that is for the pair! They can be seen at Stratham's newest shop OLDE TOWNE HALL ANTIQUES on rt 33 in Stratham NH.
They are such a sweet vintage look, the glass has almost a frosted look to it, so softy, & there is a lovely floral embossed design on each.
They will need to be rewired. Not a big project at all but please know that for your safety you should buy a kit right away & change them. (that's why the low price!)

Today's Find
I just got this hutch this evening. I really like the look (so does my cat). It has nice detail & style for a French Country or Shabby Chic decor.
The top middle glass door opens, the sides are stationary. There is actually just one drawer below, the others are *faux* so there is more shelf storage that can be accessed from the side doors.
It seems that it would work in a livingroom or hall as well as a diningroom...& great display & storage for a bedroom too.
I'm not thrilled over the dry brush finish so I will give it a coat of French Cream paint. But will probably sand the edges so some glints of antique gold can come through.
What do ya think? It passed CalliCat's smell test!
